Iudex Ex Machina

Iudex Ex Machina is a 3D action  game with a steampunk theme. The protagonist, Nicholas, is the first failed experiment of the artificial intelligence called Machina. The latter intends to replace humanity with its perfect creations, half organic and half robot, inspired by biblical elements. Nicholas will have to contend with it and with his twin brother, Michele, who decided to stay alongside the AI.

Features:

Exploration in steampunk religious environment: 

• The setting of the game is a steampunk cathedral, this means we decided to mix up steampunk and biblical elements for the background of this story. In this context, there’s Machina, an AI with a strong God complex, that wants to replace humanity with his perfect creations. 

Combat with different styles:

• Nicholas has a lot of key points in his gameplay, for example his arm, which he can use for his skill, called Steam, and his choice of weapons, that can be changed during the gameplay - The change is useful for different kind of enemies and situations; since we have four kinds: shotgun, minigun, revolver and a sniper rifle. They all have different skills so that our players can use them during the gameplay.

Dark narrative: 

• In the game, we’ll see the dualism between these characters, since we’re gonna show the contrast between a human ally, which is Nicholas, and Michael, which is considered Machina’s perfect creation and he’s even worshiped with statues. In other words, we’ll see a fight between humanity and robots, which is a very classical steampunk theme.
